In 1932, Georg Linz founded the Linz company in Nuremberg, Germany's writing instrument capital.

Initially a small craft business, it has been involved in the development of high-quality writing instruments and their individual components since its foundation. Production of ballpoint pens

With advanced technology, the Linz company sets an important milestone in the history of the ballpoint pen.

The company is one of the pioneers in the manufacture of ballpoint pen refills and is one of the first large-scale manufacturers of ballpoint pens in the Federal Republic of Germany.
The company soon began exporting its products to over 60 countries in Europe and overseas.

In addition to traditional metalworking, plastics technology was also incorporated into production at an early stage.
An international focus and close ties to markets around the globe were important to Linz from the very beginning – and continue to shape the company to this day.

Continuous presence at international trade fairs

Trade fairs have shaped our company's development since 1950. What began as a small regional stand has grown into a permanent international trade fair presence. For over seven decades, we have been presenting our latest products and technical and design developments at important industry trade fairs. Our regular appearances showcase the evolution of our product range—from classic fountain pens to modern writing systems—and strengthen our position as a reliable partner in the writing instrument market.

Today, we supplement our trade fair presence with a variety of forms of professional exchange, depending on the focus. These include industry meetings and trade events as well as targeted customer and dealer visits, seminars, training courses, webinars, and trips to national and international partners. This allows us to remain closely networked with the industry even in times when we are more selective in our trade fair appearances, ensuring a continuous market presence.

Personal interaction with suppliers and customers is at the heart of what we do, and we are always looking forward to gaining new business partners.

Special finishing techniques – Paint shop 

Another area of expertise is being developed.

Our exclusive paint shop was one of the few companies in Germany that specialised in high-quality surface finishing. We served the luxury lines of leading international writing instrument and accessory manufacturers and set standards in quality and precision. Our lacquers were characterised by exceptional colour depth, brilliance and durability. Even back then, we used particularly fine materials from all over the world, including lapis lazuli from Afghanistan, malachite from Africa and Europe, ochre and other precious natural materials. Many of our raw materials came from Asia, where traditional craftsmanship and high-quality pigments have been valued for centuries. We processed genuine mineral pigments combined with high-quality lacquers and special resin systems. Thanks to our international trade contacts, which we had already established at that time, we were able to successfully build up this demanding line of business and thus laid the foundation for our global prestige.
